In March 2018 Sothebys in Online held the auction Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Untitled, 1966 by Bob Thompson. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,500.00 (€ 5,275.97), 30% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bob Thompson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Meeting Man in May this year with an auction result of USD 327,600.00 (€ 307,490.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 30 % übertroffen
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in Online die Auktion Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, 1966 von Bob Thompson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.500,00 (€ 5.275,97) und damit 30% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bob Thompson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Meeting Man im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 327.600,00 (€ 307.490,14).
