This artwork by Biren De achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2021. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works by Benodebehari Mukherjee from the Mrinalini Mukherjee Foundation auction, the work Untitled (Vaishnavites) sold for USD 32,500.00 (€ 27,676.06) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Biren De - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work September '73, which sold at auction in October 2018 for GBP 60,000.00 (€ 67,661.49).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Biren De erzielte im März 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works by Benodebehari Mukherjee from the Mrinalini Mukherjee Foundation wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Vaishnavites) für USD 32.500,00 (€ 27.676,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Biren De mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit September '73 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für GBP 60.000,00 (€ 67.661,49) versteigert wurde.
