In March last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Man Weighing Fish by Biren De. The »bidding war« ended at USD 27,720.00 (€ 24,988.73), 54% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Biren De - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work September '73, which sold at auction in October 2018 for GBP 60,000.00 (€ 67,661.49).

Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Man Weighing Fish von Biren De zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 27.720,00 (€ 24.988,73) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Biren De mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit September '73 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für GBP 60.000,00 (€ 67.661,49) versteigert wurde.
