Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Girl on Bow-Sprit Swing by Billy Childish was auctioned at Christies in London in June this year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 21,996.35) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Billy Childish have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work toward a shore in March last year with an auction result of GBP 163,800.00 (€ 194,203.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Girl on Bow-Sprit Swing von Billy Childish kam im Juni diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.900,00 (€ 21.996,35) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Billy Childish auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit toward a shore im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 163.800,00 (€ 194.203,34).
