Auction result well in line with expectations
The work French Tango by Beryl Cook was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2020. The price achieved of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 13,893.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Beryl Cook - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Red Umbrella, which sold at auction in September last year for GBP 38,100.00 (€ 43,361.48).

Die Arbeit French Tango von Beryl Cook kam im September 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.600,00 (€ 13.893,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Beryl Cook mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Red Umbrella beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für GBP 38.100,00 (€ 43.361,48) versteigert wurde.
