Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Virgin and Child by Beryl Cook. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 7,040.00 (€ 8,213.55). Admittedly, works by Beryl Cook have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Red Umbrella in September last year with an auction result of GBP 38,100.00 (€ 43,361.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Virgin and Child von Beryl Cook zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 7.040,00 (€ 8.213,55) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Beryl Cook auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Red Umbrella im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.100,00 (€ 43.361,48).
