In April 2021 Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Salome, c.1895 height: 33.0cm (13in). (including base) by Bertram Mackennal. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 35,670.00 (€ 29,650.87), 43% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Bertram Mackennal have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Circe, c.1902-04 in November this year with an auction result of AUD 196,800.00 (€ 119,328.49).

Im April 2021 führte Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Salome, c.1895 height: 33.0cm (13in). (including base) von Bertram Mackennal zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 35.670,00 (€ 29.650,87) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bertram Mackennal auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Circe, c.1902-04 im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 196.800,00 (€ 119.328,49).
