Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On The River Road Hauling Logs by Berthe des Clayes was auctioned at Sothebys in Toronto in November 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CAD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of CAD 9,000.00 (€ 6,965.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Berthe des Clayes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Among The Poppies; Among The Delphiniums, which sold at auction in May 2011 for CAD 20,400.00 (€ 14,647.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit On The River Road Hauling Logs von Berthe des Clayes kam im November 2012 bei Sothebys in Toronto zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CAD 9.000,00 (€ 6.965,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Berthe des Clayes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Among The Poppies; Among The Delphiniums beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für CAD 20.400,00 (€ 14.647,25) versteigert wurde.
