Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calm Day on the Shore by Bertha Stringer Lee was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 828.75 (€ 732.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bertha Stringer Lee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rhododendrons, Golden Gate Park, which sold at auction in August 2021 for USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,161.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calm Day on the Shore von Bertha Stringer Lee kam im Dezember 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 828,75 (€ 732,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Bertha Stringer Lee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rhododendrons, Golden Gate Park beobachtet, die im August 2021 für USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.161,02) versteigert wurde.
