Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Marilyn Monroe (from the portfolio 'The Last Sitting') by Bert Stern was auctioned at Bonhams in April this year. The price achieved of USD 1,912.50 (€ 1,732.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bert Stern achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Marilyn Monroe, 'The Last Sitting', 1962, an exhibition presented at seventh 'Mois de la Photo à Paris', 1992 in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 146,500.00 (€ 105,251.81).
