Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Penitent Magdalene Holding A Crucifix Resting On A Skull by Bernardo Strozzi was sold in the Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 152,500.00 (€ 112,264.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Bernardo Strozzi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Supper At Emmaus in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 914,500.00 (€ 1,100,001.67).

Die Arbeit The Penitent Magdalene Holding A Crucifix Resting On A Skull von Bernardo Strozzi wurde im Januar 2013 in der Auktion Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 152.500,00 (€ 112.264,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bernardo Strozzi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Supper At Emmaus im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 914.500,00 (€ 1.100.001,67).
