Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Bernardo Strozzi could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Master to Master: The Nelson Shanks Collection auction, the work Saint Christopher carrying the Christ Child changed hands for USD 60,480.00 (€ 53,942.20) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bernardo Strozzi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Supper At Emmaus in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 914,500.00 (€ 1,100,001.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Bernardo Strozzi konnte im Januar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Master to Master: The Nelson Shanks Collection wechselte die Arbeit Saint Christopher carrying the Christ Child für USD 60.480,00 (€ 53.942,20) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bernardo Strozzi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Supper At Emmaus im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 914.500,00 (€ 1.100.001,67).
