Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Arachne by Bernardo Strozzi was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 187,500.00 (€ 211,003.78). Admittedly, works by Bernardo Strozzi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Supper At Emmaus in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 914,500.00 (€ 1,100,001.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Arachne von Bernardo Strozzi im Dezember 2017 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 187.500,00 (€ 211.003,78) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bernardo Strozzi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Supper At Emmaus im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 914.500,00 (€ 1.100.001,67).
