This artwork by Bernard Lens III achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2020. In the Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction, the work Portrait Of John Lens, Brother Of The Artist sold for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,244.37) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bernard Lens III have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self-Portrait Aged 27 in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 59,094.15).

In der Auktion Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of John Lens, Brother Of The Artist für GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.244,37) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bernard Lens III auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Self-Portrait Aged 27 im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 59.094,15).
