inscribed 'Several Views/Taken by the Life/by Bernard Lens.' (on the frontispiece within a sculpted cartouche) each page inscribed and numbered variously, 'A Prospect of Wokey[sic] Hole', 'A View of the Entrance into Wokey hole', 'The First View within Wokey hole' (a), 'The Second View in Wokey Hole', 'The Third View in Wokey hole', 'The Fourth View in Wokey Hole' (b), 'A View of The Hall within Wokey Hole', 'A View of the Wonderfull [sic] cistern within Wokey Hole' (c), 'A Continuation of the Same Room' (d), 'The Furthest View within Wokey hole' (lower centre, in the margin) and further inscribed with contents list

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An Album of Ten Drawings of Wookey Hole, Mendip Hills, Somerset by Bernard Lens III was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2005. The price achieved of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,170.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bernard Lens III have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self-Portrait Aged 27 in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 59,094.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit An Album of Ten Drawings of Wookey Hole, Mendip Hills, Somerset von Bernard Lens III kam im November 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.170,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bernard Lens III auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Self-Portrait Aged 27 im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 59.094,15).
