In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Hot Dog Stand, West and North Moore Streets, Manhattan by Berenice Abbott. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,160.00 (€ 9,613.93), 27% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Berenice Abbott have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work New York At Night, 1932 in October 2013 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 64,366.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hot Dog Stand, West and North Moore Streets, Manhattan von Berenice Abbott zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.160,00 (€ 9.613,93) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Berenice Abbott auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit New York At Night, 1932 im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 64.366,63).
