This artwork by Girolamo di Benvenuto achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2006. In the Important Old Master Pictures Evening Sale auction, the work The Madonna and Child with a pomegranate with Saint John the Baptist and Saint Catherine of Alexandria sold for GBP 142,400.00 (€ 211,339.43) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Girolamo di Benvenuto - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of a young man, half-length, in a blue doublet and hat and a black jacket, which sold at auction in July 2010 for GBP 445,250.00 (€ 535,362.96).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Girolamo di Benvenuto erzielte im Dezember 2006 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. Für andere Arbeiten von Girolamo di Benvenuto mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of a young man, half-length, in a blue doublet and hat and a black jacket beobachtet, die im Juli 2010 für GBP 445.250,00 (€ 535.362,96) versteigert wurde.
