Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Mussoorie) by Benode Behari Mukherjee was auctioned at Christies in New York in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,276.00 (€ 2,953.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benode Behari Mukherjee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Frying Fish in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 70,000.00 (€ 59,609.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Mussoorie) von Benode Behari Mukherjee kam im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.276,00 (€ 2.953,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Benode Behari Mukherjee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Frying Fish im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 70.000,00 (€ 59.609,98).
