Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Untitled (Mussoorie) by Benode Behari Mukherjee. The price achieved of USD 1,512.00 (€ 1,390.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benode Behari Mukherjee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Frying Fish in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 70,000.00 (€ 59,609.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Mussoorie) von Benode Behari Mukherjee zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.512,00 (€ 1.390,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Benode Behari Mukherjee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Frying Fish im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 70.000,00 (€ 59.609,98).
