In March 2021 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works by Benodebehari Mukherjee from the Mrinalini Mukherjee Foundation, which included the work Rajgir Landscape by Benode Behari Mukherjee. Here, the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,031.42). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Benode Behari Mukherjee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Frying Fish, which sold at auction in March 2021 for USD 70,000.00 (€ 59,609.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works by Benodebehari Mukherjee from the Mrinalini Mukherjee Foundation durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rajgir Landscape von Benode Behari Mukherjee zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 20.000,00 (€ 17.031,42) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Benode Behari Mukherjee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Frying Fish beobachtet, die im März 2021 für USD 70.000,00 (€ 59.609,98) versteigert wurde.
