This artwork by Bennett Oates achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in March 2021. In the British and European Art auction, the work Still life of flowers sold for GBP 3,570.00 (€ 4,193.83) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Bennett Oates; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Parrott tulips with flowers sold at auction in March 2008 with the realized price of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,281.24).
