Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2005 Christies in London held the auction Twentieth Century British Art, which included the work Still life with Peonies by Bennett Oates. The price achieved of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,654.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bennett Oates - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Parrott tulips with flowers, which sold at auction in March 2008 for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,281.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Twentieth Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still life with Peonies von Bennett Oates zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.654,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Bennett Oates mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Parrott tulips with flowers beobachtet, die im März 2008 für GBP 5.000,00 (€ 6.281,24) versteigert wurde.
