Sold at the lower estimate price
In November 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work British mr. Henry Vansittart'S Chestnut Colt Burleigh With Sam Chifney Up, By The Rubbing-Down House At Newmarket by Benjamin Marshall. The result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 56,807.42) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Benjamin Marshall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sir Charles Bunbury'S Bay Filly With Jockey Up On Newmarket Heath, which sold at auction in November 2005 for GBP 78,000.00 (€ 114,591.86).
