Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sir Charles Bunbury's filly, Eleanor with jockey up by Benjamin Marshall was sold in the Old Master Paintings Part II auction at Bonhams in London in July 2020. The price achieved of GBP 11,312.50 (€ 12,618.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Benjamin Marshall have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sir Charles Bunbury'S Bay Filly With Jockey Up On Newmarket Heath in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 78,000.00 (€ 114,591.86).
