Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Benjamin Marshall could be acquired at Christies in New York in May 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work Lord Stawell'S Filly Mockingbird, Jockey Up, Being Led By His Trainer From The Rubbing House At Newmarket changed hands for USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,848.24) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benjamin Marshall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sir Charles Bunbury'S Bay Filly With Jockey Up On Newmarket Heath in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 78,000.00 (€ 114,591.86).
In der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Lord Stawell'S Filly Mockingbird, Jockey Up, Being Led By His Trainer From The Rubbing House At Newmarket für USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.848,24) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00.
