Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Self-portrait with his wife Agnes by Benjamin Brecknell Turner for GBP 1,792.50 (€ 2,497.40). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benjamin Brecknell Turner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trees (Pepperharrow Park) in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 149,150.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Self-portrait with his wife Agnes von Benjamin Brecknell Turner für GBP 1.792,50 (€ 2.497,40) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Benjamin Brecknell Turner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trees (Pepperharrow Park) im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 149.150,99).
