Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a lady, circa 1710 by Benjamin Arlaud was sold in the Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction at Sothebys in London in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 882.00 (€ 985.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Benjamin Arlaud have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Traditionally Identifed As Poncette De La Vivarais in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,215.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, circa 1710 von Benjamin Arlaud wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 882,00 (€ 985,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Benjamin Arlaud auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman, Traditionally Identifed As Poncette De La Vivarais im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.215,18).
