In November 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Día De Sol by Benito Quinquela Martín. The »bidding war« ended at USD 28,125.00 (€ 20,906.12), 41% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benito Quinquela Martín achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work El Puerto De Buenos Aires in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 421,000.00 (€ 270,565.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 41 % übertroffen
Im November 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Día De Sol von Benito Quinquela Martín zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 28.125,00 (€ 20.906,12) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Benito Quinquela Martín erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit El Puerto De Buenos Aires im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 421.000,00 (€ 270.565,55).
