This artwork by Ben Levene achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November this year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Shawls Wood, Rain in the Air sold for GBP 1,408.00 (€ 1,631.57) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ben Levene - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life With Begonia, which sold at auction in September 2006 for GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,956.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 76 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ben Levene erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Shawls Wood, Rain in the Air für GBP 1.408,00 (€ 1.631,57) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ben Levene mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life With Begonia beobachtet, die im September 2006 für GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.956,71) versteigert wurde.
