It achieved a price of GBP 2,820.00 (€ 4,361.90), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 57%. Admittedly, works by Basil Nightingale have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Breaking Cover in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,425.63).

Die Arbeit Hunting incidents von Basil Nightingale kam im Juni 2002 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.820,00 (€ 4.361,90) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 57%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Basil Nightingale auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Breaking Cover im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.425,63).
