The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,570.70) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bartolomeo Pinelli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Marcus Furius Camillus liberating Rome from the Gauls (recto); A compositional study of the same subject (verso) in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 63,407.64).
