In March 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian, which included the work Battle Scene by Bartolomeo Pinelli. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 500.00 (€ 585.95), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bartolomeo Pinelli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Marcus Furius Camillus liberating Rome from the Gauls (recto); A compositional study of the same subject (verso) in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 63,407.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im März 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian durch, in der auch die Arbeit Battle Scene von Bartolomeo Pinelli zur Versteigerung kam.
