This artwork by Bartolomeo Bimbi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in April 2003. In the OLD MASTER PICTURES auction, the work Tulips, roses, poppies, chrysanthemums, hyacinths and other flowers with butterflies in a sculpted vase on a ledge sold for GBP 33,460.00 (€ 43,596.09) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Bartolomeo Bimbi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Gruppe von Früchten: Birnen, Aprikosen, Kirschen und Pflaumen. sold at auction in March 2010 with the realized price of CHF 66,000.00 (€ 46,345.41).
