Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and Early British Paintings, which included the work A Tavern Scene With Peasants Drinking And Smoking by Bartholomeus Molenaer. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,559.81) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Other works by Bartholomeus Molenaer have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2009 the work A Classroom Interior was auctioned for EUR 11,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and Early British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Tavern Scene With Peasants Drinking And Smoking von Bartholomeus Molenaer zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.559,81) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Bartholomeus Molenaer konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2009 die Arbeit A Classroom Interior für EUR 11.250,00 versteigert.
