Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2018 Christies in London held the auction Handpicked: 50 Works Selected by the Saatchi Gallery, which included the work Criminology by Barry Reigate. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,933.39). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Barry Reigate - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Real Special Very Painting, which sold at auction in March 2017 for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,973.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Handpicked: 50 Works Selected by the Saatchi Gallery durch, in der auch die Arbeit Criminology von Barry Reigate zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 5.250,00 (€ 5.933,39) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Barry Reigate mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Real Special Very Painting beobachtet, die im März 2017 für GBP 18.750,00 (€ 21.973,15) versteigert wurde.
