This artwork by Barnett Freedman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2012. In the Posters With A Purpose: The London Transport Museum Sale auction, the work Theatre, Go By Underground sold for GBP 2,875.00 (€ 3,574.56) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Barnett Freedman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot On The Cliffs At Dover sold at auction in November 2006 with the realized price of GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,920.48).
