Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Mountainous Landscape With Figures Near An Inn by Barent Gael was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,875.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barent Gael achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Travellers at a blacksmith's in November 2000 with an auction result of NLG 117,020.00 (€ 54,822.00).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Mountainous Landscape With Figures Near An Inn von Barent Gael im Mai 2013 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.875,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barent Gael erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Travellers at a blacksmith's im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 117.020,00 (€ 54.822,00).
