Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An Elegant Hawking Party Setting Off From A Country House by Barent Gael was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,943.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barent Gael achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Travellers at a blacksmith's in November 2000 with an auction result of NLG 117,020.00 (€ 54,822.00).

Die Arbeit An Elegant Hawking Party Setting Off From A Country House von Barent Gael kam im Januar 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.943,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barent Gael erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Travellers at a blacksmith's im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 117.020,00 (€ 54.822,00).
