This artwork by Barbara Rae achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in July this year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Carrowkilleen sold for GBP 5,760.00 (€ 6,720.17) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Barbara Rae - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Field Altandhu, which sold at auction in March 2005 for GBP 10,200.00 (€ 14,855.24).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Barbara Rae erzielte im Juli diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Carrowkilleen für GBP 5.760,00 (€ 6.720,17) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Barbara Rae mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Field Altandhu beobachtet, die im März 2005 für GBP 10.200,00 (€ 14.855,24) versteigert wurde.
