This artwork by Barbara Rae achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May last year. In the The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship auction, the work Spanish Orchard sold for GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,893.62) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Barbara Rae; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Field Altandhu sold at auction in March 2005 with the realized price of GBP 10,200.00 (€ 14,855.24).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Barbara Rae erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship wurde die Arbeit Spanish Orchard für GBP 7.560,00 (€ 8.893,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Barbara Rae; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Field Altandhu im März 2005 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 10.200,00 (€ 14.855,24).
