Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2018 Christies in New York held the auction An American Journey: The Diann G. and Thomas A. Mann Collection of Photographic Masterworks, which included the work Martha Graham, 'Letter to the World', 1940 by Barbara Morgan. Here, the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,066.89). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Barbara Morgan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Martha Graham – "Letter To The World" (Kick)', which sold at auction in April 2020 for USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,820.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion An American Journey: The Diann G. and Thomas A. Mann Collection of Photographic Masterworks durch, in der auch die Arbeit Martha Graham, 'Letter to the World', 1940 von Barbara Morgan zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 6.875,00 (€ 6.066,89) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Barbara Morgan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Martha Graham – "Letter To The World" (Kick)' beobachtet, die im April 2020 für USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.820,63) versteigert wurde.
