The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 18,000.00 but the actual price ac However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Balthasar Beschey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A River Landscape With Wagons And Townsfolk On A Path And Boats; And An Extensive Landscape With A Windmill And Figures, A Canal Beyond, which sold at auction in July 2005 for GBP 131,200.00 (€ 190,304.36).
