Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Avigdor Stematsky was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,688.00 (€ 3,555.29). Admittedly, works by Avigdor Stematsky have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Abstract Composition in December 2017 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 24,954.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Avigdor Stematsky im Dezember 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.688,00 (€ 3.555,29) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Avigdor Stematsky auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Abstract Composition im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 24.954,25).
