This artwork by Avigdor Arikha achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in February 2020. In the First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Reflections, 11 and 12 January 2000 sold for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 43,462.59) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Avigdor Arikha - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nude On A Sheet, which sold at auction in December 2017 for USD 162,500.00 (€ 135,168.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Avigdor Arikha erzielte im Februar 2020 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit Reflections, 11 and 12 January 2000 für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 43.462,59) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Avigdor Arikha mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nude On A Sheet beobachtet, die im Dezember 2017 für USD 162.500,00 (€ 135.168,86) versteigert wurde.
