In September 2010 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now,Art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries including Indonesian Art and Topographical Observations, which included the work Portrait of Balinese woman with orchids by Auke Sonnega. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 10,625.00 18% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Auke Sonnega have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ceremony at the Temple in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 562,500.00 (€ 65,014.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2010 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Nineteen to Now,Art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries including Indonesian Art and Topographical Observations durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Balinese woman with orchids von Auke Sonnega zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 10.625,00 und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Auke Sonnega auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ceremony at the Temple im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 562.500,00 (€ 65.014,59).
