Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Augustin Hirschvogel could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Prints auction, the work Jonah and the Whale on a Lake with Sailing Vessels (Sch., B. 75; Holl. 2) changed hands for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,624.79) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Augustin Hirschvogel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape with a Castle on a Rock at Centre in January 2021 with an auction result of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,752.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Augustin Hirschvogel konnte im Dezember 2012 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Prints wechselte die Arbeit Jonah and the Whale on a Lake with Sailing Vessels (Sch., B. 75; Holl. 2) für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.624,79) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Augustin Hirschvogel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape with a Castle on a Rock at Centre im Januar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 36.752,99).
