Sander Köln–Lindenthal' blindstamp on the image, signed, annotated, and dated by Gunther Sander, the photographer's son, in pencil on the reverse, tipped to a thin paper mount, the photographer's 'August Sander, Menschen des 20 Jahrhunderts' stamp with numerical notations and date '1969' in ink on the reverse.

Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by August Sander could be acquired at Bonhams in London in October this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work Arbeitslos (Unemployed Man) changed hands for USD 3,200.00 (€ 3,028.01) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by August Sander achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Porträts aus „Menschen des 20. Jahrhunderts“. in November 2019 with an auction result of EUR 949,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von August Sander konnte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Arbeitslos (Unemployed Man) für USD 3.200,00 (€ 3.028,01) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von August Sander erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Porträts aus „Menschen des 20. Jahrhunderts“. im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 949.000,00.
