In the Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art auction, the work Landscape With The Iztaccíhuatl In The Background changed hands for USD 25,000.00 (€ 23,633.96) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by August Löhr have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work El Valle De México in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 161,000.00 (€ 123,960.58).

Dieses Kunstwerk von August Löhr konnte im November 2016 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art wechselte die Arbeit Landscape With The Iztaccíhuatl In The Background für USD 25.000,00 (€ 23.633,96) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von August Löhr auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit El Valle De México im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 161.000,00 (€ 123.960,58).
