Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work View Of The Gardens Of Borda, Cuernavaca, Mexico by August Löhr was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,412.51). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by August Löhr achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work El Valle De México in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 161,000.00 (€ 123,960.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit View Of The Gardens Of Borda, Cuernavaca, Mexico von August Löhr im November 2017 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.412,51) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von August Löhr erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit El Valle De México im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 161.000,00 (€ 123.960,58).
