Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Faust at the Sabbath by Ary Scheffer was auctioned at Bonhams in London in December 2021. It changed hands for a price of GBP 19,000.00 (€ 22,663.01) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ary Scheffer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait De George Washington, D'Après Gilbert Stuart in June 2010 with an auction result of EUR 265,000.00.
